- ELIGIBILITY


- For Post Graduate Programmes in Management:

For all IIMs, the minimum eligibility criterion for admission to PGP is at least a three-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)/All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) as eligible for Post-Graduate Studies in Management.


- Special eligibility requirements:

IIM Ahmedabad: PGP in Agri-Business Management (PGP-ABM)

Candidates should have, from an institution recognized by the Association of Indian Universities/AICTE:

(a) a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agriculture Sciences OR (b) a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agriculture related disciplines OR (c) at least a three-year Bachelor's degree in any discipline, and a strong interest in Agriculture, Agro/Food Processing, Rural and Allied Sectors. (Such candidates, with a strong interest in these sectors, must submit a special form available with the PGP-ABM Office during October 2004.)

Candidates appearing for the final bachelor's degree examination or final master's degree examination can also apply. If selected, such candidates will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if they submit a certificate latest by June 30, 2005 from the Principal/Registrar of their college/institute (issued by June 30, 2005) stating that they have appeared for all the examinations (including practicals) in all the subjects required for obtaining the Bachelor's/Master's degree. Their admission will be confirmed when they submit the mark-sheet and a certificate of having passed the
Bachelor's/Master's degree referred to in the certificate issued by the Principal/Registrar of their college/institute. The deadline for submission of the mark-sheet and the certificate is December 31, 2005. Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission.

IIM Bangalore: PGP in Software Enterprise Management (PGSM)

Candidates must, at the minimum, possess at least a three-year Bachelor’s degree in any discipline that is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)/All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). In addition, candidates need to have a minimum of two years work experience in the software industry as on June 10, 2005.

IIM Calcutta: Candidates can apply to more than one of the Post Graduate Programmes viz, PGDM, PGDCM and PGDBM.

For Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Aided Management (PGDCM), a candidate is required to send a crossed demand draft payable in Kolkata for Rs.600/- in favour of Indian Institute of Management Calcutta along with a self-addressed envelope of size 10” x 5” between August 2 and November 1, 2004. Application Form will be sent to the applicant on receipt of the demand draft. See the CAT Bulletin for further information.

Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM) is a three-year evening programme. For this programme an applicant must have (i) a minimum of two years work experience (by May 31, 2005) at an Executive/Supervisory level after graduation and (ii) must be employed in a full time job at the time of admission (Details in CAT Bulletin).

IIM Lucknow: PGP in Agri-Business Management (PGP-ABM)

Candidates should have any of the following qualifications obtained from institutions recognized by AIU/AICTE:

(a) a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or allied subjects OR (b) a Master’s degree in any discipline of Agriculture or allied subjects/Rural Sociology/Economics (with specialization in Agricultural Economics)/Rural Development/Rural Marketing/Co-operatives/Rural Banking OR (c) Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by the AIU/AICTE as eligible for post-graduate studies with minimum 2 years experience (as on February 28, 2005) in the field of agriculture, rural development, agro/food processing.

Candidates in their final year of Bachelor’s or Master’s degree examination will be allowed to join the programme only if they complete all the requirements for obtaining the degree before June 30, 2005 and produce a certificate to this effect at the time of registration.

Note (for all IIMs): Candidates who are currently in their final year of Bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) can also apply, provided they expect to complete all their exams and other requirements for obtaining the qualifying degree before June 30, 2005.

Such candidates, if selected for admission, will have to submit a certificate at the time of registration, stating that the candidate has completed all the requirements for obtaining the Bachelor’s degree before June 30, 2005. This certificate has to be obtained from the HoD/Registrar/Principal of the Institution/University where the candidate is studying. In addition, such candidates must produce the final year mark-sheet and the degree certificate as proof of having satisfied the minimum eligibility requirements, by the dates specified by the respective IIMs in the CAT Bulletin.


CAT SCORES:
The CAT scorecard will be mailed to the candidates by December 31, 2004. The CAT score will remain valid for one year for all the IIMs.


- SCHOLARSHIPS/FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE:

It is the endeavour of all IIMs that no student be denied opportunity to pursue the Post-Graduate Programme in Management for want of adequate financial resources. Substantial need-based scholarships are available for students belonging to economically disadvantaged families. (Please see the write-up on each IIM in the CAT Bulletin for details.)


- RESERVATIONS:

As per Government of India requirement 15% and 7½% seats are reserved for SC and ST candidates, respectively.

3% seats are reserved for Persons with Disability (PWD). The three categories of disability are: a) low-vision/blindness, b) hearing impairment, and c) locomotor disability/cerebral palsy.


- TEST CENTRES:

Note: IIMs reserve the right to change or cancel any test centre at their discretion.


- CAT BULLETIN:

The CAT Bulletin containing the CAT Application Form and other information can be obtained at branches of State Bank of India listed below, between July 19 and August 20, 2004 for Rs. 1100/- (Rs. 550/- for SC/ST candidates). Please note that a candidate needs to buy only one CAT Bulletin irrespective of how many IIMs he/she is applying to. All candidates must enclose the 3rd Copy of Bank's/IIMs' Pay-in Slip with the CAT Application Form. SC/ST candidates should submit a copy of SC/ST Certificate to the Bank/IIM at the time of obtaining the CAT Bulletin. Please ensure your eligibility to appear in CAT before procuring the CAT bulletin. CAT application forms of ineligible candidates and application forms with incomplete information will be summarily rejected. No claim of refund will be entertained on Bulletin once sold.

Under exceptional circumstances [such as (a) the stock of bulletins exhaust in the nearby branch of the bank, (b) the bank branch is inaccessible to the candidate, and (c) the bulletin sale through banks close] copy of the CAT Bulletin can also be obtained directly from any one of the IIMs at the following addresses till August 27, 2004 by sending a crossed demand draft for Rs. 1200/- (Rs. 600/- for SC/ST candidates with a copy of the SC/ST certificate) drawn in favour of the respective IIM. Request for bulletin should be accompanied by a cloth-lined self-addressed unstamped envelope of size 12" x 10".
