court questions basis for high IIM fees
The
Supreme Court, in its initial observations on the public litigation
opposing the drastic reduction of IIM fees, seems to have vindicated
the government’s decision to reduce the fees at the IIMs. A bench
comprising chief justice VN Khare and justice SH Kapadia said these
institutes of excellence should not be accessible only to the elite
and questioned the basis for charging a fee of Rs. 1.5 lakh per
student.
