No,
for now says IIMA, politely
The
Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, became the first of
the IIMs to stand up to the Government and say no to its fee cut order
and decided, instead, to leave the current Rs. 1,58,350 annual fee
intact.
However,
echoing the IIMA Society's non-confrontation tone yesterday, the board
of governors admitted the need of a dialogue process with the Ministry
and agreed to arrange for scholarships for students who need financial
aid. "The
Emphasis of today's board meeting was on dialogue with the HRD
Ministry", said board chairman and Infosys mentor N R Narayana
Murthy after the meeting which was, interestingly, not attended by any
representative fro either the Centre or the state government.
