Celebration at IIMs as Murali Manohar Joshi bites the dust

The defeat of Uninion HRD Minister Murli Manohar Joshi has brought relief - and some cheer - to IIM campuses around the Country.

"Joshi's ouster is great news for IIM-C. We hope the Congress Government will reverse the order to cut fees when it comes to power," IIM-C faculty council spokesperson Ashish Bhattacharya said.

Similar sentiments ruled in IIM Ahmedabad. With the summer vacations on, there weren't too many students around but a senior staff member described Joshi's defeat as a 'pleasant surprise'.
