IIM graduate gets top dollars

 

The Placement season at IIM-A started with a bang when a student of the premier business school bagged the highest-ever placement offer of $1,52,000 per annum on 'Day Zero' itself - the first 48 hours of the IIM placement process.


The mood at the campus was euphoric, At the end of 'Day Zero' on Tuesday night, students had accepted as many as 58 offers made by top Indian and forreign companies.

 

The $1,52,000 man was Ravi Singhvi, who bagged a job with the investment banking division of HSBC. A Chartered Accountant by training, Ravi(26) would be an associate in the mergers and acquisitions section of the bank in London.

 

The number of jobs offered on 'Day Zero' increased to 86 this year, compared to last year's 41. The top companies that came calling in IIM-A were Archeus Capital, AT Kearney, Bain&Co, Barclays Capital, BCG, Booz Allen Hamilton, General Motors, JP Morgans, McKinsey & Co., Merrill Lynch and others.

 

More than 250 students graduating from IIM-A this year are available for placements.
