The Batch of
2003, with almost 70% of its students having prior industry
experience, managed to bag 27 lateral placements this year. The
average salary this year has been Rs 6.76 lakhs, not including
the foreign offers. Based on the performance in their summer
internships the students received a total of 11 pre-placement
offers.
Placements 2003 saw a mix of Consulting, Information Technology
and FMCG companies woo the students at the institute. Out of the
78 companies that registered for placements, only 47 could
manage to get slots and recruit students. The regular recruiters
like Triniti Corporation, continued their special relationship
with NITIE, offering the highest Indian salary of Rs. 14 lakhs.
Incidentally, Triniti was also the largest recruiter this year
and selected as many as 10 students. The batch of 2003
established their presence on foreign shores in the form of 7
students accepting international offers in Systems and
Consulting.
Some of the big names from the happening IT sector included
Computer Sciences Corporation, Oracle, SAP Labs, HCL
Technologies, Wipro Technologies, Bluestar InfoTech, Digital
Globalsoft and Tata Consultancy Services.
Regular FMCG recruiters like Nestle, Marico, Asian Paints, J&J,
and L’Oreal strengthened their ties with NITIE by picking up
students for their Marketing, Systems and General management
functions.
The GE group came calling with its group companies GE-SBI,
GECISS, GE Analytics and the prestigious GE-IMLP was one of the
preferred recruiters. |
